MEETING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE OF
THE VITEBSK PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
October 27, 2023 The Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine held a meeting of the staff of the academy with the representative of the Vitebsk prosecutor’s office Sudakova L.
The dialogue platform was initiated by the vice-rector for educational work Fedotov D. and the vice-rector Evmenov D.
A representative of the prosecutor’s office brought shocking facts and figures on genocide, death camps and ghettos, reprisals. The investigation is going on, but it has now been established that the places of mass extermination of civilians are in almost every region of the country, and the number of death camps during the Great Patriotic War was almost twice as many as the number of large settlements in Belarus.
In addition, they recalled the adopted laws «On the prevention of the rehabilitation of Nazism» (2021) and «On the genocide of the Belarusian people» (2022), as well as the Article 15 of the new version of the Constitution of 2022, which stipulates that the state ensures the preservation of historical truth and memory of the heroic feat of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.
The speech focused on the inadmissibility of substitution of concepts and use of extremist symbols. The overwhelming majority of the Belarusians did not accept the Nazist ideology and the system of the occupation regime, and selflessly took part in the unprecedented struggle against the aggressors is a fact we can and should be proud of.
