Department of International Relations, Professional Guidance and Pre-University Training
About the Department
The Department of International Cooperation, Professional Guidance and Pre-University Training serves as the primary gateway for international students, academic partners, and prospective applicants. Our mission is to promote the Academy’s educational programmes abroad, facilitate academic mobility, and support international students throughout their journey – from the first point of enquiry to graduation.
The Department is responsible for coordinating international partnerships, managing exchange programmes, organising professional orientation events for school-leavers and college graduates, and overseeing pre-university training for both domestic and international applicants.
Foundation course
The Academy offers a one-year Foundation Course designed for international applicants who wish to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine, biotechnology, or related fields. The programme provides intensive training in the Russian language, as well as foundational study in biology and chemistry – core subjects required for successful entry into our undergraduate and specialist degree programmes.
Upon successful completion of the preparatory course, students receive a certificate that allows them to apply to any higher education institution in the Republic of Belarus.
Russian Language Courses
For international students and professionals seeking to improve their communication skills, the Department organises Russian language courses at various levels – from beginner to advanced. The courses are tailored to the specific needs of learners and include both general Russian and specialised veterinary terminology for those planning to study or work in the field of veterinary medicine. Classes are delivered by experienced instructors and are available in both full-time and part-time formats.
Professional Development Courses
In addition to pre-university training, the Department offers a range of short-term professional development programmes designed to enhance the practical skills of veterinarians and related specialists:
- Grooming Courses – practical training in animal hygiene, coat care, and grooming techniques for dogs, cats, and other companion animals. The course covers breed-specific grooming standards, use of professional equipment, and animal handling skills.
- Ultrasound Diagnostics (Ultrasound) Courses – hands-on training in veterinary ultrasonography. Participants learn scanning techniques, image interpretation, and diagnostic approaches for small and large animals. The course combines theoretical lectures with extensive practical sessions using modern ultrasound equipment.
All courses are taught by experienced instructors and practitioners, and participants receive a certificate of completion recognised in the veterinary community.
