AGRARIAN PROFESSION IS YOUR CHOICE
On April 4-5, 2019 on the basis of the educational institution “Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine” the Republican seminar for the pedagogic staff implementing the program “Introduction into agricultural professions” was held, with the aim to improve competencies and management skills in order to enable potential students to be enrolled into the agrarian university of the country without taking the entry tests, just upon the results of the interview.
The Rector of the “Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine” Mikolai Haurichenka addressed the participants with his welcoming speech. The key note speakers were the representatives of educational authorities and institutions of higher and secondary education: Vladimir Zhurba, the Vice-rector for academic Affairs (VSAVM), Gennady Voloshkevich, Director of the state institution “Educational and Methodological Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus”, Elena Bogdanovich, the Deputy head Vitebsk regional educational Committee, Helen Sosnovskaya, the head of the Sector for Human Resources of the Vitebsk Regional Committee for Agriculture and Food, and many other specialists of tertiary and secondary levels of agrarian education.
The organizers of the seminar pursued the following goals: to identify the features and special competencies necessary for the educational process in the classes on the optional course “Introduction to agricultural professions” as well as training of the seminar participants.
The practical part of the seminar was held on the base of JSC “Milk” in order to get acquainted with the state of art in the agricultural production. Participants of the seminar were demonstrated the technologies of production of dairy product and got acquainted with the technologies of growing environmentally friendly products (vegetables and herbs) at the greenhouse complex “Rudakovo”.
On April 5th , another day of the seminar, Kosenyuk Oleg, the head of the Department of Education of the Main Department for Education, Science and Personnel of the Ministry of Agriculture pronounced his welcoming speech with belief that, owing to such seminars, the educational methodical complex is going to be improved. He also noted that all the comments and suggestions of teachers implementing the program would be taken into account, and the number of classes with an agricultural profile in the country would be steadily increasing.
Then master classes were held in physics, biology, chemistry with the participation of leading lecturers and teachers.
In general, the participants of the seminar, and the organizers, including the Authorities of the Vitebsk Eegion, recognized the necessity to continue such seminars in order to strengthen a cooperation between institutions of secondary and tertiary education, for more effective proffessional orientation of pupils, striving to motivate them to become students of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
