Alexey Vasiliev: “Physical culture and sport as a lifestyle”
Another week – a new hero of the BASS project “A Capital T teacher”. And today it is a senior teacher of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine (VSAVM) Alexey Vasiliev. He is a Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus in Greco-Roman wrestling, a candidate master of sports of the Republic of Belarus in shooting from service weapons, a judge of the National category of the Republic of Belarus in service and applied sports.
He has been working at the Department of Physical Education and Sports of VSAVM since 2019. The main goal of a fresh teacher was to involve students in regular sports. For those teachers of physical culture who, like Alexey Anatolyevich, grew up in a sports environment since childhood, the ability to plan and regulate physical activity itself has become not only a useful practical acquisition, but also an interesting thing for the soul. They know very well how to achieve good results and are eager to give others the opportunity to do so. To reach the goal, see the desired result of your efforts is an indescribable feeling that gives you confidence, cheerfulness, energy to move on.
Alexey takes an active part in organizing and conducting sports and mass events among students and staff of the Academy, not only in the institution of higher education, but also in the region.
In the 2019-2020 academic year, Alexey took an active part in preparing national teams to participate in the final competitions of the 2019 and 2020 Republican University Games. In 2019, the Academy’s team in freestyle wrestling in the program of the Republican Universiade-2019 took the 1st place among girls and the 3rd place among young men in the 3 group of higher education institutions. In 2020, in the final competitions in Greco-Roman wrestling in the program of Republican student competitions, the national team of the Academy took the 2nd team place in the third subgroup.
In the sports club of the Academy, Alexey Anatolyevich conducts classes in Sambo and Judo. Students engaged in this sports section are the winners of the National, Regional, City and District Competitions.
Besides, Alexey Anatolyevich is the author of educational and methodological manuals and scientific articles that are the result of his methodological and research activities at the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
