The Round table “International relations in the field of education between Uzbekistan and Belarus»
On November 3, 2020, the Academy organized a round table “International relations in the field of education between Uzbekistan and Belarus” together with Khudainazar Yunusov, Professor, Rector of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Honorary Professor of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. The participants of the round table were: Anton Ivanovich Yatusevich, Professor of the Academy, Head of the Department of Parasitology and Invasive Diseases, Honoured Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, Academician of RAS, Honorary Professor of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine; Dmitry Fedotov, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, vocational guidance and pre-University training, Alexander Alexandrovich Belko, Vice-rector for Scientific Affairs of the Academy, Asadullo Suvonovich Daminov , Vice-rector for science and innovations of the Samarkand Institute of veterinary medicine; Yunus Salimov, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine, as well as heads of departments and lecturers, Belarusian and foreign students and postgraduates of the Academy.
It should be noted that earlier on July 12, 2019, Dr. H. B. Yunusov, Rector of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine visited the Academy to discuss in detail joint Belarusian-Uzbek projects on training specialists for the agricultural sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the visit, Mikalai Ivanavich Haurychenka, Rector of the Academy, signed an agreement with the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine on establishing and opening the Inter-University Faculty. In 2020, the Interuniversity Faculty held the second set of joint training of students in the specialties of “Veterinary Medicine”, “Veterinary Pharmacy”and “Animal Science”. On October 10, 2019, Sh. A. Zhabborov, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and M. A. Ruzimuradov , head of the Brucellosis laboratory, Professor of the Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and representatives of the State Committee of Veterinary Medicine of the Republic of Uzbekistan, during the business visit discussed the further prospectives for cooperation – issues of joint production of veterinary drugs, scientific research and training of Uzbek applicants at the Academy, as well as prospectives for training undergraduates.
On October 23, 2019, Mr. Nosirjon Sobirovich Yusupov, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus and Mr Abidov Daniyar Tadjievich, counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus arrived for their first official visit to the Academy. The main purpose of the visit of Mr. Yusupov was to get acquainted with the organization of the educational process, the history and structure of the Academy, the system of higher agricultural education of the Republic of Belarus, and to discuss the development of Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation in the area of higher education.
The purpose of the round table was to develop joint scientific ideas and opportunities within the framework of ties between Belarusian-Uzbek universities.
Dean D. N. Fedotov made a report on the current state of international relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus. The participants of the round table discussed the problems and prospectives of further development of international cooperation in the field of education between the Academy and the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine.
During the meeting, both sides expressed their desire and readiness for closer cooperation and further negotiations, emphasizing the importance of student exchange. Professor A. I. Yatusevich emphasized that the Academy attaches the greatest importance to improving the quality of training of veterinary specialists, provided by the introduction of innovative forms and technologies of training, developing curricula, and improving the skills of teaching staff. D. N. Fedotov, the Dean of the faculty of International Relations also drew attention of the Uzbek side to the fact that in the educational process much attention is paid, first of all, to the practical training of future veterinary surgeons and veterinary-sanitary specialists, pharmacists and animal husbandry engineers. Mr H. B. Yunusov, the Rector of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine stressed the importance of the establishment of the interuniversity faculty and suggested continuing work on training specialists in the Institute’s branches in Tashkent and Nucus. And also certain issues of cooperation in the development of textbooks, manuals and joint research projects were discussed.
The round table was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and prospectives for cooperation between our countries in the field of agricultural education were discussed.
At the round table, the participants decided to plant a “Tree of the Belarusian-Uzbek Friendship” in the territory of the Academy. An elm tree – as the symbol of Belarus, was chosen as the “friendship tree”. The Uzbek side also proposed to hold a joint International scientific and practical conference on Parasitology in the spring of 2021 (in Uzbekistan).
The participants of the round table underlined the necessity to establish a permanent contact between interested parties and conduct a further joint work in this direction.
