4 OCTOBER – WORLD ANIMAL PROTECTION DAY
“The beasts make up a voiceless and devoided of rights majority that can only survive with our help. I have done what I can in the only possible for me way. I would like to hope for your support.”
Gerald Durrell
Gerald Durrell is a world-renowned zoologist, writer and naturalist, conservationist and founder of the Jersey Zoo, known for his work to save rare and endangered species.
Darrell loved animals not for the benefits they bring, but simply because they are unique creations of nature, and taught people to do the same through his books and movies.
A talk in the library was dedicated to this outstanding person. The event was attended by 2nd year students of the specialty “Veterinary Pharmacy” (curator I.Y. Postrash, associate professor of the Department of Chemistry).
The book exhibition “Vanishing Beauty” was presented in the reading room for the Animal Protection Day.
