Department of Computer Education established December 1, 1992 on the basis of the computing center of the Vitebsk Veterinary Institute and the department of economics and organization of agricultural production.

At the same time it formed the first faculty of the department, which includes the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor Borisevich Mikhail Nikolaevich, candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Dyatlov Mikhail Kirilovich; senior teachers Sirtcov Vladimir Leonidovich Khrushchev Alexander Anatolevich, Assistant Kasyanova Tatiana.

The staff of programmers and educational support staff of the department was formed from the data center staff.

At various times, worked at the department Kasyanov T.W., Goncharov V.V., Kostyuchenko I.K., Volynets G.V., Senko E.V., Yaskevich C.L., Zuyev V.T., Eliseev V.V., Fedotov A.M., Karamalak N.P., Pakhomenko E.G., Lavrenova A.V.

Initially the hardware foundation of the department were computer “Nairi-C”, NTT, the EU-1840. Classes are held in two computer classes and only one discipline “Computer Engineering and Programming”.

Over the years, the development team of the department, a modern technical and educational-methodical base, which later became the basis for the information preparation of students, graduate students, applicants, faculty members of the Academy, as well as students of the Faculty of advanced training and retraining of personnel.

Since its foundation till today manages the department professor, Borisevich Mikhail. Also, currently work at the department: Associate Professor Mironenko Vitaly Mikhailovich, Senior Lecturer Khrushchev Alexander A, Senior Lecturer Sirtcov Vladimir, Assistant Boeva Natalia, the engineer – programmer 1 category Borsuk Natalia, engineer – programmer Chizhov Yulia, laboratory Ilyushina Nadezhda, laboratory Sokolova Alesya, the operator PVM Vasiliev Evgeny, computer operator Pashkevich Irina.
